FAQ
How much does it cost to run a sauna?
Running costs depend on wattage and usage time. Our saunas range from 2kW to 10kW. On average, an hour’s use costs between £0.50 and £2.50. For more details, use an electricity cost calculator.
What warranties do you offer?
- Electrical components: 1 year
- Wooden parts: 2 years
Are the saunas easy to assemble/install?
Yes. All saunas include clear assembly instructions. Most panels are secured with buckles or clamps, with minimal screwing required. Infrared saunas plug into a standard household socket, while traditional steam saunas must be hardwired to the mains by a qualified electrician.
How hot do the saunas get?
- Traditional steam saunas: 18–99°C, set via the control panel (0–90 mins).
- Infrared saunas: up to 65°C.
When should I add water to the stones?
Only add water once the stones are fully heated. Adding water too soon reduces steam quality and may damage the heater.
How do I know when the stones are hot enough?
The stones should feel intensely hot when you bring your hand close (without touching). Many heaters also have gauges – wait until it reads at least 300°F (approx. 150°C).
What type of water should I use?
Use clean, distilled water where possible. Tap water with high mineral content may cause limescale build-up over time.
Do I need to take anti-mould precautions?
Generally no, but if your sauna is in a very humid space, keep the area as dry as possible.
What cable size is required?
- 3000W saunas: 2.5 mm supply cable
- 4500W saunas: 4 mm supply cable
Do I need an RCD for a steam sauna?
Yes, RCD protection is required. Please consult a qualified electrician.
Is the sauna delivered assembled?
No, saunas are delivered flat-packed. Assembly is simple, with video and PDF guides included.
How long does it take to heat up?
At an ambient temperature of 10°C:
- ~15 minutes to reach 50°C
- ~30 minutes to reach 70°C
Does the exterior timber get hot?
The outside becomes warm but remains safe to touch, even for children.
Can the exterior be painted?
Yes, it can be painted with suitable wood-coloured paint.
What type of wood is used?
All our saunas are crafted from Canadian Hemlock.
What is an oxygen ioniser?
An optional negative ion generator that freshens the air. Please contact us for pricing.
Are stones included with the heater?
